Microsoft has nothing on ESPN

ESPN (UK)Image via Wikipedia
A new study says 8.4% of jobs in Washington state depend on Microsoft.

That's a pretty big number.

But it has nothing on the relationship that ESPN and Bristol, CT share.

I lived in Bristol for three years when I worked for ESPN, and I'm not as down on it as a lot of former Bristolites, but it is a truism that ESPN is Bristol.

The percentage of tax dollars that ESPN brings into that city is just absurd.

I know there are some other good-sized companies in Connecticut, but as for Bristol, it's ESPN and the Otis Elevator company.
